                  Three Haiku Poems

                                                                  James Thomas Hazard

Midnight Swim
Sharp scent of chlorine
Sinking in cold, dark water
Deeper than the stars

No Ice, no Water
Sweet, light, maple brown
Cool heavy glass of fire
Sip, feeling nothing

By the Spanish Arch in Galway
Strolling past the swans
Strong, wide wings beat the river
As boys pump their fists.
