Some
of us of a certain age remember, when as a young child, the long, slow
automoble trips that brought us here to the far fair land of
California. If not us, our parents, if not them, our grandparents
experienced this. Philip Spooner, who has a photo series of
Emelia Earhart in Issue 22, wrote a detailed narrative of his
family's journey from New England to California in the Summer of
1951.
