Subject: Power tools

I usually shy away from most
things mechanical, except of course, for fast cars and airplanes. I bit
the bullet and bought a blower. I am so tired of sweeping and hosing
the patio and driveway just to do it again after a little breeze ruins
my neat yard. I'm sure it will be a push weighing wasting water vs.
power consumed, but she is a dandy! I bought an electric Toro Ultra Blower, Model # 51599
for $70 bucks from Home Depot.
I feel just like wasshisname on Tool
Time. Safety first though, with gloves, goggles and face mask.
Just to be sure, I added a hard hat to complete the "look". I was
ready to crank her up and blow the driveway with my brand new candy
apple red siren of a machine with dial up power, many nozzles and a
little reverse action if needed, with a cute little vacuum bag. What a
sweet ride, doing in minutes what used to take me an hour or more. I
was getting pretty fancy with my wide sweeps and narrow "get outta
dere" cobweb chasing passes.
Feeling the mighty power of old man wind, I moved into the back yard to
blow off the patio. I made quick work of a morning-long job and
retraced my steps back through the sally port (double gated entry).
Forgetting to dial down the power, I got Power Tool Power/20112 treated to
my own personal hurricane between the two gates with full force dust,
leaves, dog hair and grit blowing into every crevice and orifice. I WAS
going to run out to the pet supply and grocery stores after I finished
tidying up the place. Instead, it was back to the showers and another
hour to recreate the "look" I had before I decided to "git her done."
Yup, she is a dandy. I think I'll name her "Sassy".
